My weight fluctuates with the seasons. It is frustrating, and with fall just around the corner holiday arise and many unhealthy eating opportunities. It is my least favorite time of the year because I am always trying to lose weight but the cold weather makes me want to stay in and eat. The rush after the holidays always makes me want to lose weight faster, but there are a lot of tricks that I’ve found to help me shed pounds fast. These little changes in my daily routine have helped tremendously and have made losing weight a much easier process. Here are 6 ways you can lose weight fast:
1. Drink a ton of water
Most people underestimate the power of drinking more water. Water has absolutely no calories but is essential to the body. Water helps you lose weight by making you feel full. It also helps flush out all of the toxins in your body. To make it even better, drink water in the morning when theoretically you are fasting overnight and working to reset your insulin resistance.
Drinking huge amounts of water, at least 8 glasses per day, can help speed up your metabolism and make you feel fuller. Have a glass as soon as you wake up in the morning to help flush out those toxins from your body, or have some between each meal throughout the day. If you don’t like plain water try adding some lemon or cucumber to it. It will help you drink more so you can lose weight fast.
Tip: I use this water tracker bottle to help me drink a gallon a day, you can get it from Amazon.

2. Get enough sleep
The average person gets less than 6 hours of sleep a night, but this is absolutely terrible for you. Not to mention it makes you look tired all the time which gives off the impression that you are not healthy or don’t take care of yourself. Not getting enough sleep will make your hunger hormones go haywire because it messes with your insulin sensitivity and leptin levels. It also makes you crave more sugary foods because it messes with your glucose tolerance. Not to mention that not getting enough sleep can actually reduce your metabolism!
We all want to stay up late, but this is affecting your sleeping schedule. When we are tired our body does not have the energy it needs to function properly, which leads to overeating. This happened to me when I was in college. I would stay up late and then my body needed all the energy it could get so I would eat everything in sight. It is important to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night, no matter how busy you are.
If you have trouble sleeping there are natural aids you can try like hemp gummies, blended herbal pills, or sleepy time teas.

3. Eat a healthy diet
Okay before you roll your eyes, a healthy diet is a requirement to lose weight fast or slow. Your diet is going to be 80% of your success or failure, so if you don’t eat healthily then it is going to be extremely hard for you to lose weight. A lot of people ask me what a healthy diet looks like and the answer is simple: a whole food nutrient-rich diet consisting of lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and few carbohydrates. It is very easy to eat this way, but some people still struggle.]
Eat foods that will help your body not store fat, or maintain muscle. It is important to eat foods that are high in protein and fiber, which help you feel full for longer. Eating less food helps you lose weight fast because your body won’t have to burn as many calories. Check out these best foods for weight loss here.

4. Track your caloric intake
Essentially, if you wanted to ignore my above point, you could. But you would have to be strict about the number of calories you consume. So theoretically you could eat cakes, cookies, and pies, but when you reached your max calorie limit, that would end your food for the day. It may sound cool until the only thing you’ve eaten is 4 cookies all day. Healthier foods just have much lower calories.
It is very important to track your caloric intake if you want to lose weight. It will help you understand how much food you actually eat and where your problem areas are. A lot of people underestimate how many calories they consume, especially when they eat out at restaurants.
Keep track of the number of calories, carbs, and fat that you are putting into your body. You can use a smartphone to help you do this quickly at any time of the day, or use an app on your computer. This will help show you how much food is too much for your body and helps prevent overeating.
5. Incorporate regular exercise
Faster weight loss happens with exercise. If you want to lose weight fast, then it is necessary for you to incorporate some exercise into your life. Any type of movement will help with digestion and help boost your metabolism.
It does not matter how much weight you want to lose-a simple 10 minutes walk around the block is enough. However, when you are trying to slim down it is a good idea to do some more intense workouts like weightlifting or cardio.
Doing physical activity throughout the day can make you feel better, and burn calories. You don’t have to work out at the gym for hours-you can do sit-ups anytime! Do some stretches after your morning shower or go for a quick jog around your neighborhood. Pick up any form of physical activity and start doing it.
